Advantages: 4 points per pound spent with plenty of ways to earn extra points

Disadvantages: If you shop online you have to remember to put your card in the machine in store to get your points

If you shop at Boots and don't have an advantage card - get one now!!

For every £1 you spend you get 4 points which is definetly the best reward card of any other stores. Each point is worth a penny and although this doesn't sound like much you will be surprised how quickly it adds up. There are always items which you can gain extra points from and if you join their clubs you get vouchers where if you buy certain products you get so many extra points. I am a member of their mother and baby club and you get double points on all their baby items (except milk powder which you get no points for at all!!).

Although I may be able to get my toiletries elsewhere slightly cheaper I think the points system definetly makes shopping at Boots worthwhile - I think it feels good to be getting something back!

We have done quite a lot of shopping at Boots this year with having a baby and have managed to save up £50 already which will pay for some Christmas Pressies!

You can check your points balance either online or in store on one the advantage card machines. These machines can also give you additional points or free products so it is always worth sticking your card in and spending a couple of minutes seeing if there are any vouchers you can print off to use. For instance yesterday I managed to get a free eyeshadow worth £3.99 and got 250 extra points for spending over £30! Your points balance is also printed on the bottom of each receipt.

I recently had to get a new advantage card due to my other one breaking after more than 10 years of use and note they now put on the back of your card that you are an Organ Donor (if you have signed the Organ Donor Register).

If you purchase goods online the points don't get put onto your card until you pop it into one of the advantage card machines in store so you have to remember to do this (not sure how long you have to collect your points but think it is a good amount of time).
