Advantages: Collect 4 points per pound, each point = 1p
Disadvantages: None
I first heard about the Boots advantage card from my Mother, she has been collecting points with this card for years now and has managed to accrue quite a lot of points on her card.
For those of you that haven't heard of this, it is a reward scheme that you collect points for whenever you purchase anything from Boots. You get 4 points for every £1 you spend, so it is one of the most generous schemes on the market at the moment.
To apply for a Boots card you can pick up a leaflet in store, these are usually located close to the till points. There is a temporary card on the leaflet so you can tear this off and start collecting your points immediately, although you can't spend any of the points until you have received your permanent card. To apply for this you can either complete the application form, call 08451244545 or apply online at www.bootsadvantage.com (this is the quickest way to get your card)
Sometimes Boots have double/triple points events, where you will be given double/triple points for certain items that you buy, this really bumps up your points total very quickly. I am a member of the Boots baby club and I receive double points for every baby item I buy (this doesn't apply on baby milk, im not sure why though?!!)
Boots always have a machine in store where you can insert your card to check how many points you currently have, I find this very handy as when I need to buy something I can check to see if have enough points on my card to buy it. The machine will also inform you of any special offers that are available to you, if you want to take advantage of any of these offers; you simply print out a voucher then take your purchase to the till point. The other way to check your points total is on the bottom of your receipt, the points total is displayed on every receipt, whenever you use your advantage card.
1 advantage card point = 1p to spend on anything in store. Therefore you simply collect your points and once you have collected enough you can then use the points to purchase anything in the Boots store. You must have enough on your card to completely cover the cost of the item, ie if the item costs £5, you must have at least £5 on your card, you cannot part pay for an item.
I absolutely love the Boots card, if you regularly use Boots to purchase items from then it is a wonderful scheme. Especially since having my baby boy, I have to purchase regular items such as Nappies, wipes etc, therefore I try to use Boots whenever I can to build up my points. I find that my points build up in no time, so it is definitely worth doing.
Summary: I use mine all the time and the points soon add up.
