Advantages: the name says it all, it helps you save money for a rainy day!
Disadvantages: Boots can be expensive so you do need to save a few points before you can afford items.
I started shopping in Boots last year after Christmas and thought the deals were great. Within a few months I had enough money to spend on summer essentials (£11) and I was amazed how quick they add up.
Its easy to get an Advantage Card, in fact signing up is simple and you can start earning points straight away. If you pick up a form in store it will have a temporary card attached, all you have to do is fill out the form and send it back the card will be issued to you and the temporary card can be discarded.
The advantage card is marketed as the "most generous loyalty card in the UK". This is quite true when you consider how much you get from others. With the Boots advantage card you can earn 4 points for every £1, they even occasionally have special triple points events or will give anything between 500 points and 1000 points for special items.
I often shop in Boots for my lunch and was shocked the other day when my lunch was free, I asked how and they said well every 6th lunch is free when you use your advantage card, even more of an incentive to use it.
Spending points is simple as well, 1 point = 1p so 100 points = £1 and so on. You do need the full points for a product so you cannot use the card as part payment e.g. 500 points towards a £25 item you would need 2500 points. So it does pay to save as many points as possible. If you do have 500 points and buy an item for £1.99 you will still have your 301 points on the card.
Earning and spending the pints is easy and the card acts just like a debit card, it is inserted into the chip and pin device and the points are added / subtracted.
My partner loves the free magazine and the regular mailing with details of beauty products and cheap offers. We also get additional vouchers through the post. It sis also possible to print a voucher from the kiosk in store so its always worthwhile checking when you go in. I don't shop often in Boots as it can be more expensive than other shops but it's always worth getting extra if you do ever need anything in Boots. I would recommend if you don't have one already get an advantage card they are great value for money.
Summary: Every £1 will earn four points, it's easy to save points at Boots!
