Advantages: Points mean free stuff!
Disadvantages: Can be tempting to spend more to get the points
The Boots Advantage Card is a wonderful creation. For every £1 you spend in store on the majority of items they sell you gain 4 points, sometimes if they're feeling generous they offer even more points such as triple points at weekends or 1000 points if you spend £50 etc....
I have held a Boots card for many years and have bagged many items for free pretty much due to the number of points I've collected. I try and be clever these days and get my boyfriend to buy all of his toiletries in Boots too so I can get the points for them. I have been known to save my points throughout the year then use them all in the sales or to buy Xmas presents from their many 3-2 offers.
It can be a little more expensive in Boots for certain items but if you're savvy with how you shop it doesnt have to hurt your wallet/purse to gain points to treat yourself. Only last week I realised I had enough points to buy enough shampoo and conditioner to last the next 6 months and I dont think I spent any more money than usual to get the points balance so high.
Its obviously counter productive to spend money just to get the points but if you can get a little something extra just for buying your usual stuff then who can argue with that?!
Summary: Brilliant way to get free gear

- 28/12/08 I think Boots is more expensive by far on some things - I like their 6 for 5 deal on Meal Deals - that always seems like a good Advantage Card perk to me. |
