Advantages: Great rate, adds ups quick, saves money

Disadvantages: none

Every person who makes any purchases at Boots should get themselves an Advantage card as you really can save yourself quite a lot of money.

The card itself is credit card sized, pink, with the recognisable Boots logo - and you can pick one up in any Boots store.
Every time you spend any money in Boots, the cashier will credit your advantage card with four points for every pound you have spent.
The points add up really quickly, and at any time you can spend them on anything instore, with one point being equal to one penny.
There are often special offers on particular items where you might get double or triple points, and you can even collect the points you spend online.

I have been collecting advantage points for a couple of years now and haved saved myself a lot of money with it. Last year, what I tended to do was just save up around 800 points (£8), then treat myself to a meal deal and a magazine - or some make-up.
This worked well and every couple of months I was able to treat myself.

This year I am trying to save up all my points throughout the year, and spend them on presents at Christmas time. I have been saving since the start of the year and have accummulated 1320 points (£13.20) thus far - by December I should have around £70 to spend on presents in Boots.
It's a bit like saving without really noticing that you're doing it!

I love using this card and am sometimes amazed at how fast the points add up - especially now that I have a baby and am buying all my baby products from there.
Four pence for every pound you spend is a really good rate - I don't know of any better loyalty card.
I would advise anyone who shops here to pick up a card - even the men!

Summary: Get one if you haven't already.
