Advantages: The points add up quickly
Disadvantages: You can become addicted to points
The Boots Advantage Card is, in my opinion, the best store loyalty card that there is. You earn 4 points per pound for the money you spend in Boots (some things such as prescriptions are exempt) and that's not including the bonus point offers that there often are on things.
Getting an advantage card is simple - you pick up an application form instore and send it away then a few weeks later the card will arrive in the post with your name on it and you're ready to start collecting. The card is quite a pretty girly card and looks fab in your purse! Each point collected is worth 1p do it is easy to calculate how many points you have to spend.
As well as the straight-forward collecting of points there are advantage card kiosk machines in most boots stores which allow you to put your card in each time you're in Boots and will tell you of special offers instore as well as offering you bonus points such as "100 points if you buy this nail varnish today". This means that your points add up really quickly.
A good tip is to buy your phone top-ups in Boots too. You're going to top your PAYG phone up anyway if you have one and they're included in what you can get points on so you may as well always top up at Boots so that you can get Advantage Card points on your top-up! A £20 top up will give you 80points which is 80p and again all those 80p's will add up!
Your receipt will tell you how many points you have each time you shop, and you can then use them as payment. I like to save up for a treat or save up all year until Christmas and then use the points to buy pressies for people - it's a great way to save!
Superdrug is often cheaper than Boots, but not once you take the advantage card points that you will get "back" into account so it is worth remembering that next time you need something that they both sell.
I love my Advantage card and it's the only loyalty card that I can truly say that about - the points in other stores just never seem to add up to much.
Summary: Fab loyalty card

- 15/03/09 I buy my phone top up in Boots to for the points!! It really does add up quickly. I agree, the best loyalty card, also there is a health club & parenting club which offers double points vouchers and little things like that. Health Club you can get 10% Boots items if your over 60! Great review. |
