Advantages: Get something back for what you spend

The Boots advantage card basically lets you build up points and then you can 'redeem' these for items. For every pound you spend you get four points and each point is worth a penny. You can't pay a bit off an item with points you can only buy a full product so it can be a little frustrating when you want to redeem your points and are only a point or two short.

I try to wait for the double or triple points weekends as this really helps build up your points. Although I find that I spend a little more on these weekends than I would like. You can also put your card into a machine for the advantage cards and you can change your details like address and look for any offers. This will give you the chance to print out vouchers to use at the tills such as extra points when you buy certain items. This is another way to build up your points.

I applied for mine in the store, there are usually leaflets at the tills, and all I had to do was put a few details on the form and hand it in. There is a tear off temporary card to use until your plastic one arrives. I had to wait ages for mine, but no one else I know had to wait more than a couple of weeks. Because my card took so long to arrive I had almost £50 when it arrived! A bit shameful when I realised how much I had been spending but I was getting my lunches there for work and lots of christmas gifts.

Its simple to use the card, just bring it with you to the till and give to the staff. Your points are added automatically and if you ever forget your card just ask the staff to add it to your receipt and you get a couple of weeks to go in with your card and get the points added on.

This is a good reward for shopping with Boots and feels great when you can get something back. I like to save my points up for christmas and try to take advantage of the 3 for 2 at the time.
