Advantages: Points to spend instore to treat yourself

Disadvantages: If you use online you need to collect points instore

I have been a member of the Boots Advantage Scheme now for many years, if the shop has a loyalty scheme I will probably be a member!

Its completely free to have a Boots Advantage Card and you earn 4 points per pound spent and each point is worth 1p for you to spend instore.

There is no minimum amount you have to collect before you can spend your points but you do have to pay for a product in full with your points so if you wanted a £10 Mascara but only had 749 points you would have to pay with cash.

Boots often have special promotions instore where you can collect more points and its always worth checking out the instore Advantage machines.

On my last trip to Boots I was going to buy some perfume and was entitled to 250 points just for spending over £25 so this was a nice extra on something I wanted anyway.

You can also use your card on Boots.com to collect points, the website also offers extra points on certain products.

If you have a child or are pregnant you can join the Parenting club and earn 8 points on all £1 spent on certain Baby products.

You can also join the health club if your over 60 and get 10% off certain health products.

To claim your points you earn online though you do have to go into a store and load the points onto your account from the kiosk instore which is a bit of a nuisance I feel.

You can earn points as well by recycling your old mobile phone and ink cartridges.

If your not already an organ donor and wish to be one you can join up whilst registering for an advantage card and your card will then double up as a donor card with the logo in the corner.

Boots often also have loyalty shopping events especially at Christmas where you can earn £10 worth of points for a £50 spend, I did this using £100 worth of vouchers earned from survey sites the other year so got £20 for nothing!

This is a great loyalty card, the only negatives are the collection of points earned online and part payment not allowed so I will only give it 4 stars.

Summary: A worthwhile loyalty card to have in your wallet

I put my card in one of those kiosks the other day to see what special offers were available and I won 1000 points - woohoo!
