Advantages: 4 points in every pound means that your total mounts up fast

Disadvantages: You can't part pay with points so you need enough for the full value of a product

This really is the best loyalty card I've ever had. It's a very clever move on Boots part as several times I have needed cosmetics or something similar and mentally weighed up Boots and Superdrug - only to choose Boots as I have the advantage card and want my points!

I also use the advantage points machine in Boots to see if there are any vouchers that I can use to get extra points on things I would buy anyway. Another good way to increase your points score is to use the vouchers that they sometimes give you at the till for things like haircare products or make up. I buy the cheapest thing on offer as a treat and then you can claim the points from the cash part of that purchase as well. Plus whatever you have bought feels like a treat as you wouldn't normally have bought it! (although I am a beauty addict and love trying new things!).

I usually save my points up for a whole year and then see what I have at the end of the year that can go on Christmas presents. By buying the three for two items from the Christmas shop, I have managed to do a lot of my Christmas shopping for next to nothing in the past.

You can now get points on perscriptions and medicines as well, so if you have a regular medication you need to buy, using your card could offset the cost a little.

The only thing I don't like about the Advantage card scheme is that you need to pay for an item with points in full. It would be great if you could part pay cash and points, but they haven't made this an option.

Summary: I would never stop using this scheme as long as it runs

Boots don't seem to have updated their site to say that you can get points on prescriptions. Is this actually the case?
