Advantages: Free shopping

Disadvantages: Can't collect points on anything

I think this card is wonderful. I have owned one for quite a few years, the aim of the card is for every £1 you spend you gain points that are collected and can be used in store to buy products.

When I had my children they do a parenting club which you fill in a form and you will get a free changing bag a higher points scheme for every £1 you spend you gain 4 point i think it is for that year.

There are some things in store that you can not gain points from such as baby milk that is used upto 6 months the progress milk however you can. I must say that I didn't think this part is very good because you can earn so many points when buying this milk and it is not available.

You are able to spend them on almost anything in store even the baby clothes range. I loved this because when I was short of money one week and my child needed some milk I always had enough points on my card to get some for him. When I had my daughter I had been saving the points for a year and had almost £200 so that bought most of my daughters baby clothes and packs of nappies and milk and it wasn't coming out of my back pocket it was free.

When you are spending the points you have to stay within the limits you have on your card. If you go slightly over you will not be able to pay the extra so you will have to put something back which can be a bit annoying but you can't complain if you are getting something for free.

I have had children for 5 years now and they always have to have things from boots and medicines I have found that I buy my shampoo from boots too because they do it cheaper than anywhere else.

I also receive regular boots savings vouchers these consist of, double points when you spend on two transactions, 500 points when you spend over a certain amount also money off products or photo development and much more.

If you have forgotten your card at any point when you go in store you can keep your receipt and take it instore next time and have those points transferred onto them.

I think this is great if you can save them up over the year and you can get all your christmas presants for family or even treat yourself. It is the best points saving scheme I have ever seen because you will always need to get something from boots and women like their purfume for presants it does save you alot of money.

Summary: Go out shopping for nothing

I think that you'll find that it's always 4 points per pound, not just for those who are members of the parenting club.

I think the baby milk thing is sensible too - the idea is that you don't reward mums for using formula when breast is an alternative - same as the medicine rule - you don't encourage people to use them. I'm not saying breast is better than formula, just that I can understand the difference though!
