Advantages: High points yield, great range of products to redeem points on

Disadvantages: Need to have the full value of the product in points to redeem

Having recently written a review of how amazing Boots is, I had to review their advantage card in more detail than I did in that review, so here goes.

Boots advantage card is quite attractive and classy, unlike some loyalty cards which look quite tacky (not that I'm going to name any names!) The card is very pale pink in colour with the Boots logo in the middle. The advantage card logo, 'advantage card' and the slogan 'time to treat yourself,' in a dark pink / purple colour are in the bottom right corner. Your name and account number are in black in the bottom left corner.

Boots market their card as being the best loyalty card on the market, for every full pound you spend in Boots, you receive 4 points back. Each point is worth 1p. Points can be redeemed in store against pretty much anything across the store, any brand, not just Boots products, but bear in mind you can only redeem points on an item if you have enough points to pay for the item in full, you can't pay partly with points and partly by cash or card.

In addition to points earned through normal shopping, there are many other ways in which additional points can be earned:

1) Instore offers, such as buy x porduct and gain 50, 100, 150 etc points

2) Quarterly mailings from Boots which usually include 6-8 vouchers many of which are for additional points when you buy certain porducts. There is usually a voucher for double points which can be used twice, it's worth saving this for bigger purchases to take best advantage of this.

3) Vouchers in the back of the bi-monthly Boots health & beauty magazine.

4) Special points evenings, for example at Christmas Boots will run evenings at their larger stores where for every £50 you spend you receive £10 back in points.

5) Using the website - www.boots.com there are often offers such as spend £50 get 500 extra points.

It's very easy to collect points, they are availible on everything in store except newborn nappies and milk, stamps and some charity products. I have a pay and go mobile phone, so I always top up my phone in Boots, for every £10 I get 40p back, which is great when you top up your phone as much as I do and especially when it's something you would do anyway.

I can't recommend this loyalty highly enough, it has a high points yield to start with compared to most loyalty cards, its easy to gain bonus points and you can redeem your points against anything from basic essential toiletires to indulgently luxurious treats!

Summary: Why haven't you got one yet? You don't know what you're missing!
