The Boots Advantage Card is an excellent everyday shopping tool. It allows you to purchase top quality high street goods and then to reap the rewards for your loyalty.

Many of my friends could not understand the benefits of the Boots Advantage Card, pointing out that there are many cheaper health, beauty and pharmacy shops available. While this is true, I often find that their products are not of the same quality and in the end represent a lower value for money. In addition I do not know of any other similar stores that offer such a good loyalty system.

The card offers the greatest benefit of any loyalty card: indeed, their website boasts, "the most generous loyalty card in the UK!" Each £1 spent in store equals 4 points on the card, or 4p to be spent afterwards. In promotions, the amount of points you can collect for your £1 can increase.

Perhaps the most obvious way to make the most of your Advantage Card is to complete your weekly or monthly health, beauty and pharmaceutical shopping at Boots for a year - after 11 months of normal family shopping, you are left with plenty of points to spend on your Christmas presents!

Currently, the only disadvantage to this card is that you are unable to spend your points online with boots.com. However, with a Boots on almost every high street it's not difficult to overcome this.

In addition to the points, the Advantage Card offers membership to a variety of health clubs, including the Boots Parenting Club; allows you to collect vouchers to spend on cosmetics, photography or specific product ranges; and of course you receive an ever-useful magazine that contains information on current health issues and fashion trends.

The card is useful to you if you purchase anything from shower and bath to photography products; from baby food to sunglasses. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to be a smarter shopper!

Summary: A super card with lots of advantages - hence the name!
