Advantages: Get something back from making sure you smell good

Disadvantages: Can only earn in Boots or on boots.com

Every major store seems to offer their own rewards card these days

Tesco, Shell, Nectar (for Sainsburys) and of course, Boots.

The thing I like about the Boots Advantage card is that you can 'buy' things with the points. No vouchers to be sent to you in the post. No fuss.

Around the stores are card machines. They look a bit like cash machines.
My tip is to ALWAYS pop your machine in one before you start shopping. You can enter competitions you may not have known of before. You can print money off vouchers, or extra points vouchers to use in store. Occasionally, you may get a 'free gift' voucher. So you never know what you may find that is of interest. Always worth a look-see.

The thing I like about Boots as a store, is they seem to do almost everything. From toilettries to cosmetics. From perfume to paracetamol. From suncream to sunglasses. From cameras to picture frames. Baby bits and clothing too.
And at Christmas time, the gifts they sell are good quality at good prices.

And of course, everything (well nearly. Not on prescriptions or baby milk, I think) you buy in there, earns you Advantage Points - 4 for £1 spent I believe.

At the bottom of your receipt (or on the screen when you put your card in those machines) is your points total. Normally, the check-out person tells you too. Each point is equal to a penny to spend. So 1181 points is £11.81 to spend. That makes it easy to work out, although it will state both your points and the money equivilent

Of course, you can earn points while shopping on the Boots website too.

Everyone needs toiletries. Why not buy them and get something back for doing so?

Personally, I save my points up to buy myself some perfume with

Summary: Earn money, while spending money

I am a Boots worshipper and disagree with Phil totally lol I find most things cheaper and alot of stuff on offer and as for their reductions (which they have in my local stores) they are rather impressive to say the least! x

Trouble is, the 4% cashback they're effectively giving you doesn't offset the extra price you pay compared to a supermarket. They're kind of fooling you into thinking you're getting something for nothing, methinks.
