Advantages: 4 points for evry pound and lots of opportunites to get more

Disadvantages: Boots can be a little expensive

I have had a Boots Advantage card for as long as I can remember and over the years have collected many points, in my opinion it is the best loyalty scheme out there. It is simple to get a card and you can apply instore or online, you will then receive a card with your name and membership number and from then on you can start collecting points.

Basically every time you shop in Boots you hand your card over and will be given 4 points for every card you spend, 4 points is 4p, I don't think there are any other schemes that will give you back 4p for every pound you spend. It soon adds up as well and when you have started to accumulate a lot of points you can use them to spend in store.

You can use your advantage points to buy anything in store as long as your points cover the total price of the item you are buying, they cannot be used as part payment. I always try and wait until I have over £10 then I really feel as if I'm getting something for nothing.

Not only do you get 4 points for every pound but they often have promotions on in store, especially near christmas time where thay have triple points weekends. Recently they had 10 points per pound when you spent over £15, there are always extra opportunities to get extra points.

They also have advantage card machines in store where you insert your card and look through different offers they have in store, if you find something that is relevant to you all you have to do is print off the voucher and hand it in to the cashier. This is something I forget to do.

Another advantage is that every three months they will send you vouchers through the post, another chance to pick up extra points. Some vouchers are specific to certain items but others can be double points on your shop or 350 points if you spend over £40. There is usually between 8 and 10 vouchers. I am also a member of Boots Parenting Club and this also sends you a letter every three months containing more vouchers, these are usually focused around baby products though.

I think the one thing people might say is that Boots is more expensive than other shops and I think in general it can be. I usually buy nappies and baby wipes from there, as well as make up when I need it. I don't buy my toiletries from there unless they are on special offer but it is surprising how many times you do find things on offer.
Christmas is a good time to get lots of points as they have good gift sets in their three for two range.

The Boots Advantage card is a great scheme and I don't think it matters how many times you shop there, you should have one. Where else do you get 4% of you money back?

Summary: A great loyalty scheme
