Advantages: Great offers, best value

Disadvantages: Not able to redeem points online

**Introduction**

It seems that nowadays every major store has some kind of reward scheme which has a card. As a regular customer of Boots I thought it would be a good idea to get my own advantage card as every time I purchased something I was nearly always asked whether I had a card. The Boots Advantage Card is one of the most popular store cards around and has built a very strong reputation. I have had my advantage card for a while now so I thought I would write this review about my experience of using the advantage card and my overall thoughts.

**Signing Up**

It's completely free and really easy to sign up to get your own Advantage card, you can either do so in your local Boots store or you can do it all online. Once you have signed up you will receive your new card within a couple of weeks and in the mean time you can use your card number to earn points even without the card. All you need to do is show the barcode number when you make a purchase in store and your points will be applied to your account when you receive your advantage card.

**The Points**

The Boots Advantage card boasts one of the most generous points schemes of any store card. For every £1 you spend you will receive 4 points but there are some great offers on certain items which are worth extra points. You will often find some great points deals when you see fragrances which are part of a promotion or gift sets as well as the electrical items like cameras etc. You can check your balance when after your purchase by reading your receipt which will tell you your previous balance and then your new balance. You can also view your balance online once you are logged into the Advantage Card section.

**Spending your Points**

When you have reached a certain amount of points which add up to a product you would like to pay for with your Advantage Card all you need to do is tell the assistant you would like to use your points and then they will take payment that way. Unfortunately, you can't spend your points online but you will still earn points for your online purchases. This is a slight drawback but it's not something that has caused any problem when I have used my advantage card. The points you earn online will take around five days to clear on your account balance.

**Offers**

So if you have an advantage card you will be wanting to know about the benefits. As I mentioned you can gets some great bonus offers which will earn you more points than the standard 4 per £1. It might be worth looking around to see if any of these offers are for products you would buy as you can get a great deal especially if you are a regular Boots customer. You will normally be able to see how many points you will receive for a certain item if they are part of an offer. I find Boots to be great value anyway so in my opinion It just further increases the benefit of shopping with them.

**Overall**

I am very impressed with the Boots Advantage Card as it's a good way of treating yourself at the end of the year which I do at Christmas after I have bought all the Christmas presents I bought in Boots. There might be a product which is sometimes a little cheaper in another store but I often buy it from Boots thanks to the points rewards which don't apply elsewhere. This is a highly recommended advantage card that is well renowned for it's service and benefits. 100 points is worth £1 so it really shows how quickly you can earn points if you are a regular customer. As I previously mentioned I used my points after Christmas to get something for myself in the sales. I picked up a couple of Men's fragrance gift sets which were on offer.
