Apparently it's called Cardsurfing... shopping around for the best credit cards. Surfer's delights include cards with a low APR (such as MBNA or RBS Advanta), cashback on purchases, such as Egg, or Cahoot, who offer 5% on balance transfers.

Enter Boots Advantage. It's a credit card with a Boots loyalty card included. When you use it anywhere, you get points added to your loyalty card for money off in Boots, but best of all, they're offering a 0% APR for the first six months. The surfer's trick here is to get one of these cards, use it as your main card for six months, and instead of paying off the balance, pay the minimum and stick the rest in a savings account. Pay no interest, make money by saving, not repaying, and get Boots advantage points too.

The card is powered by Egg, and contrary to the screenshot on their website, the card is white, not pink, with an embedded smart chip as well as a hologram. They're also not fast at getting their cards out. My card finally arrived today, after about a four week wait. Even allowing for Christmas, this is slow.
