I don`t normally bother with points cards like this, but the Boots card is deffinately an exception to the rule. They give out a much better rate of points than other stores (you get 1p back for every 25p you spend), and give plenty of bonus points as well.

The biggest problem with the card is that you don`t always earn points - stamps, gift vouchers, baby milk and similar don`t give you points. If you don`t ever buy these things then it doesn`t really matter. Another problem with the card is that you don`t get cash to spend on anything you want, you can only buy things with your accumulated "money" that they`ll let you. A lot of things are available to buy with your card, and they are all fairly clearly labelled on the shelves.

Despite these bad points, there are some excellent advantages to using a Boot card. The biggest one being that, occasionally, they do a fantastic offer for extra points. Like giving £1.50 worth of points when you buy a pack of razors costing £0.99. Do the maths as often as you want, you end up making 51p for each pack of razors you get. They often do good offers giving you double or triple points for buying something.

Boots also have big machines in each branch that let you check your pints balance, and find out what special offers they`re running at the time. The machine will print out vouchers for whatever offer you`re interested in and you can then take this to the till and get the extra points or free items. This is one card well worth keeping in your wallet or purse, so go and get yourself one right now! :-)
