Advantages: highest rate

Disadvantages: some products excluded, Boots often more expensive

We've had a Boots reward card for a couple of years now and have found it to be quite worthwhile to use.

Although we don't shop at Boots that often we were suprised at the speed that we managed to acrue points. Basically you get 4% of whatever you spend back as points, 1 point = 1p. This rate of 4p in the pound compares very favourably to the supermarkets which generally pay only 1%. Boots often have special double points weekends and offer additional points with certain products.

On the downside they don't give points against everything, some medicines are excluded as are some "buy one get the second half price", this tends to confuse me as I never know exactly what I'll get points on. Also Boots do tend to be more expensive than Superdrug / Tescos etc so quite often the points are wiped out by the higher prices.Buy carefully to make the most of their card.

Redeeming points is very easy, just ask the cashier to take them off your purchase, the card is then automatically downdated. No silly coupons as with the Tescos reward card.

The terminals in Boots will give you a points balance on your card as well as giving details of special offers and competitions you can enter.

A well thought out card that can give good benefits if you seek out the double points events and special offers.

There are stars against the prices on the shelves of the products you can get points on.

Just to point out that medicines are not included on any loyalty schemes by law, something to do with people buying large amounts of dangerous drugs just to get loyalty points! I’m sure no-ones that stupid?!?

I've found this card a very useful addition to my vast array of 'loyalty' cards. Why are they called that? I don't know about you but I still shop around!
