I have a fabulous credit score because I have my credit cards (as few as possible) paid automatically out of my bank account every month. I paid off my mortgage and paid cash for my used car. You can hate me. I have a $46,000 credit limit on my Mileage Plus card which I did use when I paid for my wedding but paid off immediately. I am not young. I live overseas and wanted a card that didn't charge a foreign transaction fee so I got this card. They gave me a---$1000 credit limit. A friend who got one for his daughter on a semester abroad got a $500 credit limit! I whined and got it raised to $1500. I can't even buy an airline ticket in this country with this card. I'm applying for a Chase British Airways card where I assume since I already have a Chase card, I will get a higher credit limit. I keep having to pay off the card every two weeks to keep the balance within the limit. As soon as I get the other card and hopefully it has a higher credit limit, I'm canceling Capital One.
