Advantages: everybody get
Disadvantages: you not get what you order
I came to the UK for Work and had to open a Bank Account. I went to Llodys and it worked out very easy. The only disadvantage had been, they only give me an electron card. First I thought fine, cause I never had Problems with an Visa Electron, I used it anytime. But the handling of this card is very different in the UK I had to learn. You can use it nearly anywhere in the World including Internet without Problems, but not in the UK. The Electron card here will be not accepted widely and never over the Internet. So I need a second card and this was hard to get without any Credit History. Then I came to Capital one, and applied over the Internet for the ?No fee? Classic Card. After about one week a letter came,. I have to send some Utility Bills. Done this after one week the next letter with a credit agreement that say they give me a card with £1000 . One week later the card comes, with a Limit of $200, what?s nearly nothing and normally useless. Prewarned I called them, if I can transfer money to this account to have a higher limit and they say not possible. Nevertheless I did a transfer and it worked well. And now I am happy I did this, cause a few weeks later the first statement comes and they added a $19 annual fee, but I applied for a free card. I asked them why and the only answer I got it that this card has an annual fee. But the worst thing on this is, they don?t add this to your account immediate , no the do it on the date of you first statement. That means, if you have a limit from £200 and spent £190 you are in your limit. But then the add the £19 you never think about, cause you applied for a free card. And now you have a balance from £209 and that?s £9 over the limit, what would cost you another £20 for going over you limit. So without your fault you have to pay £39 for a ?free? card, what a scam. So if you need this card, use it very careful, otherwise forget it very quickly PS: You can p
ut money as much you want into this account and spent it, regardless what they say.
