Advantages: no annual fee, widely accepted

Disadvantages: none

Comparing credit cards is not an easy thing to do due to the vast variety available and the different features offered. The important factor is whether the service proves to be suitable for your purpose.
A few years ago I decided that I had use for a credit card, mainly because it would enable me to purchase products online. With internet purchases being my main concern, I naturally looked for one that was designed for the purpose. After checking out several offers on the internet I finally settled on Capital One.
One of the major attractions was the lack of an annual charge, which meant that paying my bill in full each month would provide me with a totally free service. I do not use the card for credit, only for convenience rather than carrying large sume of cash when buying large items.
I moved into a new home shortly after acquiring the card and ended up purchasing a vast array of new furniture such as bed, wardrobe, settee, fridge and washing machine. Having the card enabled me to shop around without first withdrawing money that I may not use for several days.
I keep a detailed check of the items purchased, but for anyone who loses track of the current balance it can be checked by telephone using an 0800 free call number. The system can be quite laborious as it involves entering your credit card number and date of birth via the telephone keypad, but at least the option exists and is accurate in real time.
As previously mentioned, credit cards are varied and their appropriate value depends on the needs of the individual, but I personally find Capital One to be very useful and have no intention of changing to another issuer.
