Annual charges not refunded (Capital One)

Well if you are looking for a card and by any chance you came by this card then just ignore it. Firstly they will give card to everyone whoever apply, Secondly they charge you £18 pa, why should you pay for this annual charge for the credit limit of £200 when there are cards with no annual charges with more than £200 limit. Then if you miss your payments by one day (due to Internet payments) they will charge you £20 late payment fee plus the interest.

Anyways, thats not the point, point is I cancelled my card before they renew it for next year in Feburary but the last statement sent to me was inclusive of my £18 annual charges. I called Capital One and asked if I should deduct that £18 and pay the rest, I was suggested not to do so and £18 will be refunded by Capital One once the final payment is received. Desipite being settled the final payment plus 1 request and 1 reminder there is not a single reply from Capital One card fellows. So I decided to cancel my second card without paying this annual charge and still haven't heard anything from them.

So here is a piece of advise, if you are settling your final payment which they owe you, deduct the amount and send the final payment else you will be following up like me for more then two months and you will not get anything. Just think of it if it were you paying them and you miss one day you will end up with £20 late payment fee plus the interest. What kind of justification is this ?????
