Advantages: 1% Cash Back, Good Customer service, Good Web Site
Disadvantages: Large Penalties
When I became unhappy with my last Credit Card (See my review on the Goldfish card) I set about a search for a new card with a good cash back or points scheme. I didn't care what the interest rate was as I always pay the total off every month. My key items were: 1) Had to be a Visa or Mastercard (so the American Express was out of luck) so that it was excepted in the maximum number of outlets. 2) It had to supply a good customer service - this was a hard one, so I just kept clear of companies I'd heard bad things about. 3) It had to have an online site that enabled E-mail/online message contact with the company and good, easy viewing of current transactions. 4) It had to have no monthly fee. 5) It had to have a goods points or cashback scheme - my target was to get 1% return (and not just for the first 6 months) I only found one card that met all of these, the Capital One card. The 1% cash back is a long term commitment, not just a 6 month fad. The customer service is A1, the telephone number to ring is even Freephone, and answered immediately! I've set up payment by direct debit, so I won't miss it and get charged. Their replies to their online messaging system are fast as well, next day for both of my questions. And I applied for my card on-line, a doddle! The only downside is that their statements are strange sizes, so it makes them hard to file neatly. If any-one finds a card that is better than this one, and gives a better long term return, I'd love to hear from them.

- 15/07/03 You're right, their customer service is great. Will have to ring them to find out where my cashback is though, that's the first I've heard of it and I've been a customer of theirs for years ;-). Nice op.
