Capital One drew me in with one of their offers on Balance Transfers and 0% on purchases for a year, which was a great deal. I used the Credit Card for a good couple of years, until things started to go wrong. I didn't use it every month, and if I did, it was mainly for everyday things like petrol and food and if I could afford it I paid ... Read the complete review

Continued from last re missing payment, all requested papers were gathered and faxed. I asked for confirmation by phone asap. None received. I rang later the same day myself and they confirmed receipt after keeping me hanging on again at my cost. Nothing heard until 27th March when I received a call from collections demanding money. I ... having realised that at the end of March 2008, I would be strapped for cash and was going to be throwing a birthday, I applied for a capital one card at the beginning of March. A week later Capital One was delighted to inform me that I had been accepted and my card was "on it's way" if I simply sign the agreement. I can now infrom you that the card was not "on it's way" at all. I have received the pin number, letter of insurance (including my credit card number) and no card!! I had read some reviews saying that the whole process took 2 weeks... It's been over 3, no card and today is my birthday. Thank you Capital One!

Capital One are like most financial corporations these days....rude and unethical, thinking only of profit & shareholders and NOT their customers. So called 'customer care' is non existent and although I am definitely on the electoral register - Capital One were unable to find me, due to their utter incompetence and stupidity. They did offer me a card (after I sent them loads of documentation to prove who I was, despite being on the electoral register) but in the end I declined it. If they were making dumb mistakes on application, what sort of disasters would happen when I used the card?

I am an expat now living in Canada, I suffered a heart attack and could not work for 18 months. I called them and asked to settle my debt. I disposed of my cards and statements. When I called, one customer service agent could not find my details, the other found it and referred me to someone else who again could not. All from the same ... Read the complete review

I chose the Capital One credit card when I needed to get a credit card quickly to pay for my work expenses. I'd managed to avoid getting a credit card when at university but was forced into getting a credit card when I started my job as my work travel company wouldn't accept switch. And so I was faced with deciding between the hundreds ... Read the complete review

Recently, my husband and I have had need for a credit card, not because we tend to spend on it, but because we hadn't had one for a long time, a couple of years maybe.
