DON'T put any money into Capital One Savings account. I had put a lot of money into there only to be told that I can not take any money out when I tried to withdraw some money. It was meant to be instant access savings! Furthermore, when I call their helpline, they put the phone down on me as they say they can not access my account. When I ... Read the complete review

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. They don't know what they are doing and they will mess up your account and you will not be able to get anyone to fix it. They were rude to me several times trying to solve my problems and they actually hung up the phone on me because they did not know what to do and they did not pass me to a supervisor. They ... ~~ Disclaimer ~~ This review is based on my personal experience of Capital One which may or may not be representative of the company as a whole - you decide. My main "problem" experience with this company was in 2003 but all other details are current. ~~ Background ~~ I applied for, and obtained, a Capital ... Read the complete review

I recently applied for a capital one Visa card. My friend had recently got one, and I liked the idea that they were a well known company and that you could also choose from different card designs. I got a reply back from capital one a few weeks later stating that I had been accepted for a capital one classic visa card, and ... Read the complete review

For someone with a fairly low credit score Capital One was my obvious choice. It sounds good and to be honest starting with a £200 limit doesn't bother me. I use the card for day to day expenses and then pay the full balance on payday. So far so good. What I didn't like was the long processing time. I applied on line and got told that ... Over the past few years I have become one of those people who won’t stick to credit cards for very long, I like to switch between those that can get me a better offer time and time again. It can be a lot of hassle at times when it comes to the balance transfer and applying to new credit card companies etc but sometimes worth while. It ... Read the complete review

I was quite disappointed upon getting this card, When I was 18 I thought I would apply for a couple for emergency use and the occasional purchase, I applied for a Barclaycard VISA and got one at 17.9% with a £400 limit and then the Capital One Mastercard, this arrived with a very disappointing in comparison 29.9% APR and only a £200 limit. Where to start!!? A few years back i wanted to be able to buy things online. I was a student, and although i worked part-time and had a student loan, my bank wouldn't give me a switch card as i didn't have £700 going through my account each month. (i keep my finances in seperate accounts) so out of boredom i filled in a Capital ... Read the complete review

I strongly advice not to get one. I had a credit card with them and ended up with a bill well over what I should of payed. They have no compassion and the only way to be safe with one of these is just use it for emergencys and pay the monthly bill on time. With my card they keep on taking the money out from my account early when there was no money ... Read the complete review

When I became unhappy with my last Credit Card (See my review on the Goldfish card) I set about a search for a new card with a good cash back or points scheme. I didn't care what the interest rate was as I always pay the total off every month. My key items were: 1) Had to be a Visa or Mastercard (so the American Express was ... Read the complete review

Well if you are looking for a card and by any chance you came by this card then just ignore it. Firstly they will give card to everyone whoever apply, Secondly they charge you £18 pa, why should you pay for this annual charge for the credit limit of £200 when there are cards with no annual charges with more than £200 limit. Then if you miss your ... Read the complete review

Ever since i've had access to the internet i've come across great web-only bargains much lower then in your local stores. At the time I did have a SOLO debit card but there were very few online shopping sites which took that payment option. So i decieded to apply for a credit card. I signed up to this card because I myself was advertising the cards on my site. It was the first credit card i had applied for and didn't realise how difficult it could be at my age to get one. Comparing credit cards is not an easy thing to do due to the vast variety available and the different features offered. I came to the UK for Work and had to open a Bank Account. I went to Llodys and it worked out very easy. The only disadvantage had been, they only give me an electron card. Beware! Capital one is all gimmick. The online application process is easy and you can even pick a groovy card format from the range of lovely colours and designs - but you have to ask if this is not just a way of distracting you from the business at hand. The promise of a low interest rate and introductory offer is a good hook for most of us, ... Read the complete review
