Advantages: Easy to use, easy to sign up, helps you budget your money if you go out a lot.
Disadvantages: A little expensive compared to a couple of years ago.
Most people like to watch a movie from time to time but if you are someone who likes to go every week then the Cineworld Unlimited Card might be the something for you!
The Cineworld Unlimited Card is just that! It lets you watch unlimited films at almost any Cineworld Cinema in the UK (excluding Chelsea, Fulham Road, Haymarket and Shaftsbury Avenue) for £13.50 per month but when you sign up to the card you are committing yourself for one year minimum and then you must give one months notice to terminate your card.
You can also buy the unlimited card as a gift to a friend or loved one for £162.00 or £198.00 if you want to include Chelsea, Fulham Road, Haymarket and Shaftsbury Avenue cinemas. This would only really be worth paying extra for if you lived in or worked in the West End and regularly went to see films at these cinemas as it's an extra £3 per month for the privilege!
You can either apply for the unlimited card instore, on the phone or online and if you apply online then you can start using the card immediately and print out a temporary card and have your new card sent out to you within two weeks.
The unlimited card is just a plastic card (like a credit card but without the chip) and it contains your photograph so that only you can use the card to obtain a free ticket.
It's very simple to use the card just take it to the ticket desk in your chosen cinema and then hand it over stating what film you want to see and you will receive your ticket just as you would if you paid. It's stated in the T&C's that you may have to provide your card when handing over your ticket to go through to the cinema but I've never found this to be the case.
I think that this card is great value if you visit the cinema at least 3 or 4 times a month but be advised that there are other deals available at the cinema such as reduced prices on Tuesdays (around £4.30 now I believe) and Orange Wednesdays where Orange customers can go buy one get one free at the cinema.
I'm sure there are lots of people that this card would appeal to and it's very easy to pay for, sign up & just start using at the cinema. I've never had any problems with the card not working or anything like that and I believe for a small fee you can reserve a ticket to a busy film online and just collect the tickets at the machine in the cinema to save queuing at busy times.
I would defintely recommend this to any fans of the cinema who visit regularly and it's great to just be able to go along whenever you want and not have to find any extra money (unless you want sweets & a drink!) to pay for your ticket. It's just one fee each month and then you've got some entertainment available to you!
I am rating this card 4/5 as the price has risen quite a bit in the past couple of years from £9.99 up to £13.50 and although the cost of cinema has risen as well this does make it less value for money compared to what the cinema used to cost and what the card used to cost.
Summary: A great card that gives hours and hours of entertainment at a reasonable price.
