Advantages: great value for money, good customer service

Disadvantages: nothing

I no longer have my Cineworld unlimited card but up until a few months ago my husband and I both had the cards for over a year. We decided to get the cards as the price of going to the cinema now is very expensive especially if there is two of you and due to our working hours going on a Wednesday and taking advantage of the Orange Wednesday BOGOF offer or going before noon to get a cheaper price was not always possible.

Getting the cards was very easy, we just simply completed the online form and uploaded a photo. I was then emailed with a temporary letter that allowed us to use take advantage of the unlimited usage until our actual cards arrived in the post. I think our cards took around a week to arrive which I thought was pretty quick.

The current costs of the unlimited cards are:
- Valid in the UK and Ireland excluding London West End Cinemas - £14.99 per month or £179.88 annually.
- Valid at all Cineworld Cinemas in the UK and Ireland - £17.99 per month or £215.88 annually.
I do think that if you purchase the annual card you should get a little bit of discount but at the moment it just works out the same price as purchasing the monthly card which you pay for by direct debit. You do need to have the card for a minimum of 12 months before you can cancel your subscription so remember to look out for this in the small print when you purchase your card if paying monthly.

You also get a few other benefits of being an unlimited card holder including:
- Discounts on magazine subscriptions.
- Fortnightly email newsletter, which contains invites to advance screenings.
- Discounts from selected retailers, including restaurants.
- Exclusive competitions.

To use the card you simply show it at the cinema where they scan the card and issue your tickets. At first our local Cineworld had a special separate queue for unlimited card holders so that you did not have to queue as long. I thought that this was a great incentive as sometimes especially on a Wednesday or when there is a big new release the queues can be huge. But this only lasted a couple of months before it disappeared which meant having to then join the at times huge queues again.

Overall I was very impressed with our Cineworld cards we only stopped them when my husband was made redundant last year as we needed to save all of the money we could but it is certainly something I would consider again in the future. The biggest incentive is that you only really need to go to see two films per month to get your money's worth from the card and anymore is a bonus! Also if money is a bit tight at the end of the month you know you can always have a night out at the cinema and do not have to take a penny with you, unless of course it's a 3D film. As you do still have to pay a surcharge for 3D films but this is discounted from £2.10 for an adult to £1.50 if you have an unlimited card. Also you do need to pay £0.80 for 3D glasses if you need them, I always save mine so I avoid this cost and obviously do my recycling bit for the environment.

I also had no problem when I had to cancel our cards, I simply called the customer service number, spoke to one of the advisors who cancelled our direct debits immediately without any questions. This was followed by a confirmation letter to state that the cards had been cancelled.

I would certainly recommend anyone to purchase this card if you live near a Cineworld and like to watch a lot of films as it can save you a fortune.

Summary: a great card if you like to go to the cinema frequently
