Disadvantages: Get in debt for years.

I hate credit cards and all they stand for,i once went into my bank and asked to have my overdraft increased and they said NO but you can have a credit card for up to £1500 what a joke.

Banks use the credit card to reel in people who have very little money and tell them that they can go and buy all they need and what do they get out of it bundles of intrest and the user gets nothing but a debt that they are paying back for the rest of their lives,they get used to being able to buy on credit and never get out of debt again.

I did once get lured into the trap and they sent me a credit card,but the card did not arrive at my house just a pinnumber and a letter saying i had used £500 of my money in a day so somebody had got me card,this however was a god send as i then decided that it's not worth it.

I know that some people need to have credit cards but i would never advise anybody to get one.
And why did the bank not extend my overdraft i'll tell you because they thought they could squeeze another few quid out of me.

If your thinking about getting a card just ask yourself one question Do I really need it?

I am personally fed up with banks taking me for a ride and would not grace them with my hard earned money just to have what i want right now,if you can save up and buy it with your hard earned money that's the way to go be patient and don't make them any richer than they already are.
