After 64 years I have well and truly joined the 21st century. First it was a PC to take the place of my old Amiga and now for the first time in my life I am the owner of a credit card. If I carry on like this I can see me getting a mobile phone next or maybe even a video, but I would have to find a five year old to set it up. Up to press ... Read the complete review

I hate credit cards and all they stand for,i once went into my bank and asked to have my overdraft increased and they said NO but you can have a credit card for up to £1500 what a joke. Banks use the credit card to reel in people who have very little money and tell them that they can go and buy all they need and what do they get out of it ... Read the complete review

When my wife (who was a girlfriend at the time) and I were going to college, we had no real income of our own and no support from our parents. However, as university students, we had many offers from banks to receive credit cards. We got applications in the mail at our dorms. There were tables manned by banks at the student center. Needless to ... Read the complete review

This is more of a ‘cautionary tale’ about what not to do with a credit card and what not to do in general ! I was in my local restaurant recently and couldn’t help but notice the diner at the next table making the 'cardinal' credit card mistake. When it came time to pay the bill, the diner just gave his ... Read the complete review

Credit cards can be a valuable way of managing your money, or a colossal burden, making you feel always up to your ears in debt. Used well, they are a perfect partner to your bank account but once you’ve let them get out of control you end up being little more than their slave. Dramatic stuff? If you don’t agree then count yourself ... Read the complete review

I’ve only had my Egg card for six months. But I can tell you this is a great card. RATES Egg’s rates are always low. Their latest offer (for new card holders) is 0% APR on New Purchases and balance transfers for six months. ~ ~ I can recall getting my very first credit card in the early 1970’s. Credit cards are dangerous if you spend more than you can afford, and it is extremely difficult to get out of debt because of the high interest rates charged on them. Paying the minimum payment every month is not enough you can be stuck with the debt for years. A lady that I work with has really got herself into a mess by running up a ... Read the complete review

If you have a credit card, the chances are you’ll think you have 56 days of interest free credit on it. The truth is not quite so true. Most people would think that credit cards are baaad.. and that they should never be touched, but they do have their advantages! Well lets start off with the bad points. Until about 7 years ago, I was a credit card 'virgin'. I had nothing against credit cards, but had been brought up to believe that they were the surest way to financial ruin known to man. If you wanted something, you simply saved up your money until you could afford to walk into the shop with a fistful of cash. And, if you had to wait a ... Read the complete review

Credit cards can be useful, and many have a lot of added extras, but there is one major problem with them - they don't feel like money! It's easy to go 'Oh, that's 200 pounds, I'll stick it on the card'- but I bet you wouldn't go to the cash machine, pull out 200 pounds, and hand over that lovely wad of cash, ...
