Debenhams Store Card

Newest Review: ... only using the card for the discount, and then going to pay it off, but it is worth bearing in mind. I was given a temporary cardboard card, and told that I would receive 10% off any purchases I made in store for a week. If you are thinking of opening a Debenhams card, it is worth waiting until you plan to do a lot of shopping, as then the saving can really add up. I used my promotional discount to do the majority of my Christmas shopping- all stuff I was going to buy anyway. My statement arrived about a week and a half after I had opened the account, and the due date for payment was a month after the account opening, so you do get a re... more

Premium Review Debenhams Store Card: Debenhams card- the pros and cons (618 words)

The Debenhams store card was quick and easy to open, a member of staff asked me at the till whether I would be interested, as I would receive 10% off of my shopping. Since I was doing a big shop, I decided that I had nothing to lose, and so agreed. I was taken to a desk with a computer, and the sales assistant went through the form with me. They only asked basic information, such as name, date of birth, address, length of time at address and so on. I was then asked to provide a bank card or credit card confirming my identity, for which I used a debit card. Less than 30 seconds later I was told my application had been accepted, and given a credit limit. I was ...  Read the complete review

I applied for a Debenhams storecard when i was making a purchase and they explained i would get 10% off that purchase plus 10% off any other purchases i wanted to make that week. As a card doesn't arrive within a week they give you a card one to use for the initial week until your plastic one arrives. Applying was quick and simple - i just filled out a form and then a member of staff called up the application line for me. If i was busy i would have felt conscious about holding up the queue but it was luckily a quiet time of day. When my first card arrived it was purple in colour and had a £500 limit. After using this one ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Debenhams Store Card: Handy In-Store Card (480 words)

I have had a Debenhams store card for many years now, as you or may not read my Debenhams review, I can spend an awful lot of time in there and an awful lot of money. Debenhams store cards are issued by GE Money, one of the main companies that department stores, such as Debenhams go through when arranging a store card. Its an ideal piece of plastic if you shop a lot in Debenhams and works like any other store card. When you first take out the card you will be asked to fill in an application form in store so they are able to contact GE Money to see whether you would be accepted for a card. As they call through you will be given an answer instantly as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review store card from staff member point of view (385 words)

I work in debenhams, and would like to share a few facts about the card. The store card isn't particularly bad if you are careful and remember to pay it off on time. you can now pay it off at any till point. this is especially good for new account holders as straight after you have opened your account, got the 10% off for the week you can clear it. also about 90% of customers who clear it off straight away never use it again, which of course means debenhams and GE Capital loose out on money. just a few things you might want to know from a staff's point of view. we have account targets, so each week each department and the ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Debenhams Store Card: Is This Card An Ace Or A Joker? (1739 words)

With so many cards to choose from you may be wondering if it is still worth having account cards for the big organisations such as Marks & Spencer and Debenhams. These cards are also known as store cards and generally speaking they may only be used at the store named on the card. Some cards like the JJB Sports card have many different partners where you can shop, it goes under the name of a Duet card and you may use it wherever you see the Duet sign. It doesn't seem to matter if you can use the card at one store or many, as there is one factor that remains the same, high interest rates. I have different cards for different purposes and it is important when ...  Read the complete review
