They have made a complete mess of my store card a/c.. They failed to take a direct debit completely and for all I know my credit rating has been messed up. Tried to call Customer Non Service and gave up after 20 mins listening to music... And it auto system did not take my a/c details either.. kept saying it was wrong. Have now contacted Debenhams Head Office as I am a journo. What a shower of complete idiots. Avoid... Not worth the aggro even for the in store discounts.

I have been trying for a month to cancel this card, calling the card customer services phone number five times, each time to be fobbed off with some pathetic excuse as to why the card can't be closed. I have cancelled several other credit cards in the past and have not been met with any such excuses, so I know them to be untrue. The customer services team is absolutely appalling; they can barely speak or understand English, meaning that they often take down your security details incorrectly when I know them to be true. They refuse to put you through to a supervisor or manager, and today the automated option for cancelling cards would not even work - I received a message saying the caller had hung up!

NEVER EVER APPLIED TO DEBENHAMS CREDIT CARD. NO DOUBT YOU WILL GET POINTS UPON SPENDING ON YOUR CREDIT CARD. HOWEVER, QUERIES AND DISPUTES WILL TAKE YOU AGES AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I HAD TO LITERALLY TOLD EACH OF THEM THAT I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WANTED TO CANCEL THE CREDIT CARD. YOU WILL NEVER GET ... Read the complete review

In August I went into the local store to buy make up for my daughters birthday spending over £170. when paying the assistant asked if I wanted a store credit card which would save me around £20 I asked if the account would come at the end of the mouth as I am paid the last day of the month she said she couldn't say but as most people got paid at that time she would think so.It arrived third week of Sept and I paid in full posting it off as soon as I was paid with what I thought was two days grace and this mouth received a late payment of £12 pounds to which I thought was disgraceful and cost me instead of saving and I feel I was conned into.Hence the card is shredded and I won't use Debenhams again

stay away!!! absolutely awful management from santander!!!! i moved house, informed them of it. i never received any statements, instead after a few months, received phone calls saying i failed to pay. on checking they had the wrong house number down, but correct town etc, so the person who took the address change, noted incorrect house number. however, they insisted on minimum payment. i refused saying a) want a new statement for verification b) pay in full as if i do part payment, i get interest charge. c) rescind all late payment and interest. i was accused of giving them the wrong address firstly, then told if i want a new statement it's another 3 pounds!!! common sense does not exist in these thick people's heads. if you send it the wrong address is that my fault?????

The Debenhams store card was quick and easy to open, a member of staff asked me at the till whether I would be interested, as I would receive 10% off of my shopping. Since I was doing a big shop, I decided that I had nothing to lose, and so agreed. I was taken to a desk with a computer, and the sales assistant went through the ... Read the complete review

I applied for a Debenhams storecard when i was making a purchase and they explained i would get 10% off that purchase plus 10% off any other purchases i wanted to make that week. As a card doesn't arrive within a week they give you a card one to use for the initial week until your plastic one arrives. Applying was ... Read the complete review

I work in debenhams, and would like to share a few facts about the card. The store card isn't particularly bad if you are careful and remember to pay it off on time. you can now pay it off at any till point. this is especially good for new account holders as straight after you have opened your account, got the 10% off for ... With so many cards to choose from you may be wondering if it is still worth having account cards for the big organisations such as Marks & Spencer and Debenhams. These cards are also known as store cards and generally speaking they may only be used at the store named on the card. Some cards like the JJB Sports card have many different ... The Debenhams Gold card. Yes please, my soon to be husband and I said when offered this shiny piece of plastic way back in 1997. The perks seemed great, and in thos days, they were! Now in the more sober noughties (or whatever fatuous title the pundits have come up with for the decade in which we live) the perks are not that great, ... Read the complete review

First things First. ---------------------- Although I don’t have a Debenhams store card as such (I have the staff discount credit card) I feel I am qualified to write this opinion due to the fact that since starting at Debs I have worked almost exclusively in the Customer Accounts Department.
