I don't know why I bothered (Egg Card)

Disadvantages: excessive vetting, very long application, psychopathic staff

After seeing egg's services being praised here in dooyoo I was surprised at the length and depth of the vetting process, both the forms and the human who sounded like a phsychopath who derived a lot of pleasure out of asking the most irrelevent and yet personal questions and failing to here my answers.

For example:
Why have you lied about your income?
2000/month is not the same as 20000/year
(I am freelance)

Why were you not on the electoral register at the address you stated 10 years ago?

Are your contracts found through word of mouth or..

As requested, some more opinion..

I appreciate I was probably unlucky but I have applied for many bits or plastic in my time but I have never been asked so many and such irrelevent questions. It also feels a little intrusive to have someone ask why you were on an electoral registed such a long time back.

I know it is good to restrict credit to those who can afford it, but given the informatation I provided combined with all the information I don't know they know about me, I should think the decision could be made quite easily without the need to resort to this form of interrogation.
