How do you pay it off (Egg Card)

I recently started using the egg credit card because of the 1% cash back you get for all purchases and the 2% cashback you get if you use the egg shop.

I wanted to pay off an amount of the outstanding balance as a one off before the due date. But how do you do it?

Ok so you go on line and can change your direct debit payments to pay off the full balance, the minimum repayment or any amount you like but ONLY on the due date.

With my HSBC card I ring them up and ask for money to be transfered from my bank account, but egg is online banking so I don't want to have to ring anybody.

There is nothing on the whole egg site to help you pay off the card in the way I want to when I want to - so what do you do.

You can in fact pay in a number of different ways

-Send a cheque and incur a handling fee.
- a BACS transfer, and yet more fees.
- ring them up
- send a request by email with your switch card details and the amount you want to pay.

I chose the latter, it's a bit of a long way round but at least it works.

I do like the egg card but I just wish they would make it easier to pay off!
