Advantages: Low interest rate, Up to date balances available, easy to use website

Disadvantages: Incentive is there to spend more than you can afford, If you want a written statement sent to you it costs £2

I have only had my egg card for two months. The reason I chose it was that it is interest free for the first 6 months. However, this is something to be wary as it does give you more incentive to spend beyond your means due to the fact that at the moment it is interest free.I know as I have already done this!! I realise that when the interest free offer ends I will have more on my card then I planned to. Self control is definately needed.

However, the egg card does have a low interest rate compared to other cards - at present it is 12.9%.

I have also found it is extremely handy looking up my statements on the web - this is useful for keeping track of your spending. The website is also easy to use which is a good thing.

So far I would give the card the thumbs up - but advise caution on overspending during the interest free period.

WElcome. Good op. Just a note: to be rated higher your op needs a bit more detail.

I have an Egg card too. In fact I bought my car on it, but fully intend to pay off the balance at the end of the interest free period. I can see how it could be easy to build up debt with it, if you weren't self controlled. Welcome to dooyoo. Jo

Not having cards, that is, not self-control!
