Premium Review Egg Card: I don't know why I bothered (224 words)
by - written on 07/07/01 (Useful, 74 readings)
Rating:

After seeing egg's services being praised here in dooyoo I was surprised at the length and depth of the vetting process, both the forms and the human who sounded like a phsychopath who derived a lot of pleasure out of asking the most irrelevent and yet personal questions and failing to here my answers. For example: Why have you ...  Read the complete review

I decided to try egg out after I heard a few of my fellow dooyoo-ers praising the egg card and it’s 0% balance transfer offer. Since they’re related to Prudential I thought I could trust them more than some unknown company, and despite feeling rather negative towards online banking having seen Barclays’ offering, I decided to ...  Read the complete review

The credit craze of the 80's has had a new lease of life in the last three or four years and these days you can't turn a corner without getting offered all sorts of deals on credit cards. Me and Mrs D got well and truly stung twenty years ago in those bad old days and are now very much older (VERY, ...  Read the complete review

Excellent if you pay all on time! (102 words)

I have held an Egg card for over a year now. The service from them has always been excellent, and with their recent website upgrade, it is easier to manage your account. I have found the Egg card to be excellent value if you pay off your balance completely every month. This is because you get 1% back on every £1 you spend, and also 2% at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fresh Eggs ARE good for you! (328 words)
by - written on 07/05/01 (Very useful, 37 readings)
Rating:

I decided to choose Egg more than a year ago now, enticed by the (then)very low interest rate of 9.9 percent, and the introductory rate (then 4.9 percent). About 4 months after I joined, the rate went to 10.9 percent and then again a few months later, up to 11.9. The zero percent introductory offer now available has to be the best on the market., ...  Read the complete review

by - written on 02/05/01 (Very useful, 83 readings)

I've had an egg credit card for about 18 months now, so I was a fairly early adopter. I always pay my bill in full, so I was attracted by the 1% cashback, which as I put most of my spending through my credit card, mounts up to a lot of money (a damn sight better that Barclaycard points - £20,000 for a toaster anyone?). Incidentally, I ...  Read the complete review

First got my Egg card over 18 months ago ( around September 99). Excellent rate of interest (Currently 0% for transfered balances for 6 months then only 11.9% APR) No annual fee and best of all a 2% money back offer on all products bought from their afiliate sites. There is no paper statement unless you print it yourself (Some people may ...  Read the complete review

After seeing an advert on the internet for an Egg card which gives you 0% interest for 6 months and then an eggcellent (this is the first of many, so get used to it!) 9.9% APR there onwards. All this with the convinience of banking online? Too good to be true... No. It's absolutley true. Applying for an Egg card is simplicity itself. You ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rotten egg? Not this one (101 words)
by - written on 12/04/01 (Somewhat useful, 19 readings)

I got an egg card for the low/interest free balance transfer, that has proven very useful. A lot of people seem to complain about the speed of the site, I can't say I have had any troubles with it. The only thing that I haven't found too useful is the fact that you can't phone them without incurring charges or paying a huge phonebill. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Egg Card: APR HIKE BY EGG ON BOOTS ADVANTAGE CARD! (965 words)
by - written on 12/04/01 (Very useful, 166 readings)

Attention: (31.05.01) Beware if you have one of these cards - Egg have increased the APR to 12.9% for existing internet customers (14.9%APR for new customers and existing postal customers) which divided over a year, makes them not much more competitive than most of the new breed of cards. There wasn't a category for this card, but it ...  Read the complete review

I first got my Egg card a year ago so I could take advantage of their interest free 6 months and transfer the balance from one of my other credit cards. Things went well. I pay my credit card off each month, so frankly egg's good rates are not interesting to me particuarly. But I do spend a lot online, and I've always had a cash-back card (whether a GM Card, an Alliance and Leicester, or Amex blue card). So why have I gone for an egg card? Well, for one thing, 1% back is quite nice. A Big Tip is to ...  Read the complete review
