Advantages: Still give some rewards

Disadvantages: Don't give much back, Poor Customer Service, Poor Web Site

I have had a Goldfish card for 6 years now. When it was first launched it was fantastic, I used to pay the balance off in full and earn loads of points which was equivalent to about 1% cash back. I never had to pay a penny out of my own pocket for my Gas supply.

Their customer service was top notch, you never had to wait long before talking to some-one when you rang them up, if you had to wait at all. Their web site was easy to use with a good range of services.

What went wrong?

At the same time they became an independant bank everything seemed to go pear shaped. Try to ring their customer service line now and you are almost certain to have to wait at least 45 minutes before some-one answers. They have slashed the value of their points scheme so that the return is only about 0.6% on your spending.

As for their web site, it's now very basic, and they never reply to E-mails. It appears that Goldfish have tried to cut costs everywhere to try and maximise their profit, and it shows!

So, after 6 years I have recently moved to use a different credit card, where I get a better return and excellent customer service (through the phone and their web site). [See my review on the Capital One Circle Card]

2 years ago I would have given Goldfish 5 stars, now, they should be happy if they get 2!

I still use my goldfish card.
I agree the returns (vouchers) are worth less nowadays, but at least they've added stores like M & S and Homebase to their list.
