Advantages: FREE MONEY, 0% interest on balance transfers, excellent internet service
Disadvantages: none
I had been thinking about getting a new credit card for a while so 9 months ago I saw an advert for the Halifax gold cashback credit card as it fell out of my saturday newspaper. As I hate filling out and posting forms I decided to check out the website at www.halifax.co.uk. I clicked on the credit card link which gave me a choice of Classic, platinum,or gold. You can appply on line and after about 5 minutes of filling in the relevant details I sat back and waited. Ten days later there was a letter from the halifax saying my application was succesful and all that was now neede was a signature on the dotted line and my card was waiting to be sent to me. I posted this off and 5 days later it popped through the door, and i must say it came with a fairly generous credit limit quite a bit more than previous cards i had applied for. Heres what attracted me to this piece of plastic ~The APR on transferred balances is fixed at 0% ~No annual fee ~interest rate of only13.9% ~interest free credit of 59 Days (one of the longest of any card providers) ~Free travel accident insurance UP TO £250,000 when you pay for your tickets using the card ~on line account servicing ~Choice of visa or mastercard ~free purchase insurance of up to 100 days ~Free flight delay insurance ~Worldwide emergency assistance But heres where the FREE MONEY part comes in 1% cash back on all that you spend so I omly have to wait another 3 months before im due for a very nice suprise simply for using my HAlifax card. So wheres the catch thats the best bit "THERE ISNT ONE" so it seems you can get something for nothing
