Newest Review: ... if the banks have liquidity they won't need to borrow from the Bank of England (funny "The Bank of Scotland" is borrowing from "The Bank of England", shove that up your independence smoking Bagpipes Mr Salmon). Problem with this to start with is that the customers often have really good reasons for not paying, which is exacerbated by the stupid and ludicrous pay off's for people like Andy Hornby. Who? Well the man who is currently on a £60,000 a MONTH deal as a "consultant", this is one of the guys behind HBOS losing over £10,000,000,000 in a year. Or how about Dennis Stevenson (or Baron Stevenson of Coddenham) ... more

I'd don't use the Halifax, let me make that obvious now before I get told that I don't know what I'm talking about, instead however I work for one of the agency's hired to pursue those behind with their credit card repayments. I probably have a better understanding that most about the Halifax ethos when it comes to their credit cards (and from the people I talk to on a daily basis it seems like I know more about their cards than they do, or their willing to admit to). So I feel it's only fair to actually give an insiders expose into the credit cards of Halifax (yes I'm happily putting my job at risk here, so if Sir Victor Blank or Eric Daniels want to know about there ...  Read the complete review

I have been with the Halifax for many years, and it has been mistake after mistake and scam after scam. This hasn't just been since floatation, in my view it is culture at the Halifax to manipulate the customer into making the worst choice. I missed out on thousands of a windfall with the Halifax (then Building Society) when it DM after 15 years of loyal custom because they 'helped' me review my finances and change my accounts to ones which didn't offer membership status. I have been reduced to tears in my branch twice in the past two years after they threatened me over the counter with the police and credit blacklisting in front of a ...  Read the complete review

Having had my banking opportunities limited by financial problems in the past and a poor credit rating the Halifax was one of the few places I tried who were actually helpful and could provide me with a decent account. I've been with them for about a year now and have both a Cardcash account and a WebSaver account. Both these were opened quickly and easily. The branch staff served me quickly and efficiently and had my account up and running within an hour of my entering the branch. The Websaver account is opened and operated entirely online which is very useful for someone like myself who is virtually housebound. I've never had to queue for ...  Read the complete review

If your a student or don't have the best work record like me try this card. There's no long laborious application to fill in ,just name and address type thing and they promise a quick reply by post or if you phone in. I was accepted straight of even though i have 400 on one card and a very capricious work record. Maybe they see me at the right age to get to far in debt and being slave to their interest.Either way i have a card with a 900 pound limit on it for the new year. No yearly fee and a very reasonable first 6 months interest rate of 6.3 percent,if your a good budgeter this is the card for you folks. I have never been anywhere near being ...  Read the complete review
