If you have an ipoints account then you'll be looking at new ways to boost your balance. With the ipoints credit card, at the time of writing you get a bonus of 2,500 points on your first spend, 2 ipoints for every £1 spent in the first 3 months after your account is opened and 1 ipoint for every £1 spent thereafter.

The bonus itself is worth about £10 in vouchers so even if you just signed up and used it once then you'd be quids in (as long as you pay the balance in full on time, of course!).

You may be a bit nervous about getting a(nother) credit card, but if you are wise and just use it to pay for everyday purchases and pay it back on time each time, then you should be on to a winner. Of course if you find that you are spending more just to get points and/or you are not meeting the minimum payments then it's a waste of time having the card. This card should be used to pay for what you'd buy anyway - not for extra things. JUST BE WISE!

So, just be wise and use it when necessary (petrol, shopping etc) and the points will soon rack up. I think my ipoints points account was updated with my credit card spend within about 2 weeks, which is adequate.

It's easy to register for the card - just apply online and they'll send you some forms to sign, register for online banking to if you like (the card is held with Halifax), activate the card and away you go!
