Advantages: the amex
Disadvantages: the mastercard
*Lloyds Tsb Airmiles Duo*
"The best card ever"
Being a member of the airmiles.co.uk i saw this offer on their website stating that
" As an AIRMILES member you can pick up a 1500 mile voucher with a new credit card account designed specifically for you: the Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo Credit Card account. Check out the benefits, apply through AIRMILES and watch your miles take off."
I thought this was good as it was enough miles for 2 free flights to zone one ( which includes paris and amsterdam etc).
"You'll receive your 1500 mile voucher within 30 days of your first spend of £10* or more on the Lloyds TSB American Express® Card." Like most credit cards when you first take them out they had a 0% interest offer on balance transfers for the first 6 months and they were given you extra miles if you transferred money
*applying*
I applied via the airmiles website so i could get my airmiles and i would say that it was pretty easy-a standard form. They sent me the cards out pretty quickly.
*Using the cards*
You get 2 cards with this account-a green mastercard and a silver american express.
The mastercard gives you 1 mile for every 50
The american Express is 1 mile for every £10 you spend
So the obvious answer is to use the amex? There are loads of places that don't take it.
*Paying*
There comes that horrible time in the month when the bill arrives and you have to think about paying it(well part of it anyway)
I go in to a branch to pay iy but if you have a current account with them you can pay it online. You can also pay it over the phone
Summary: worth getting
