M&S Money - don't touch with a barge pole (Marks & Spencer Financial Services)
Member Name: tangoman84
Advantages: Market competitive rates on this card, points build up to give M&S vouchers Disadvantages: Poor service, not well trained staff, complaints not well handled,
I took out a Marks & Spencer credit card thinking that with a good reputation behind them Marks & Spencers would have the same level of service in all of their products but this as one of my worst financial decisions yet. Each time I contacted M&S Money to try to do anything with my card I found very unhelpful and unfriendly staff and quickly became annoyed with this card so decided to get rid of this and so asked for how much I would need to pay to close the account only to be told that they could not generate a settlement quote until the next statement was produced and that as I would not get this for a few days it would then be out of date and so I would need to call up on the date of my next statement being generated to pay the figure they quoted so I called up on this date only to be told that as the transaction would not clear until a day later then this would not be the amount needed to clear the balance and what I would have to do was pay that figure and then phone the next month as due to such a small balance the interest accrual would be tiny and I should then be able to clear the balance at that point which I was not happy with so decided to pay the balance off and overpay slightly as they confirmed I could do this and would have no issues with getting any overpayment back...what a load of rubbish as it took loads of calls from me to chase up the cheque and it took many weeks to get this which I was not impressed with. Summary: I would never touch M&S Money as the service on the whole was a disgrace |
