Advantages: Supposed to be 0% finance

Disadvantages: Underhanded tactics with no regard to customers

Having taken out a 0% MBNA card some months back and always paid my bills well ahead of their due date, I was horrified to receive a bill from them this month stating that I had missed a payment, been charged £12 late fee and charged nearly £100 interest! I rang them this morning to be told that they had sent me a bill which should have been paid by 16 November. I explained I had never received it, but they said it was not their problem. They would be prepared to waive the late fee and convert my account back to 0% but not to waive the interest. My threats of closing my account, taking matters further etc were met with "you can do what you want, we dont care".

Summary: Steer well clear of MBNA
