MBNA Credit cards appears to be a very good if you play the credit card game. I have had a credit card since the age of 18 and never paid interest yet. MBNA is great for people like me who play the game but awful for people who do unfortunately fall foul of the free money they offer. If you are strict with your finances, have a decent salary then ...

I WAS an MBNA customer for a few years. I got into some financial difficulties and they were pathetic with the help they offered. I also cleared my account in full, returned my card to them and put in writing to close the account......They are now looking for a further £1300 as they say it wasn't paid.....I have supplied my cheque number and when ...

I applied for an mbna card about a year ago tempted by the o% interest free offer for a year. I have a good job with a good salary and my credit limit was upped very quickly to a ridiculous amount. Now i think of myself as a reasonably intelligent person but never really gave a thought to the interest rate that would be applied when the interest ...

I must be one of the lucky ones, I've only had 2 dealings with MBNA and was highly satisfied with them both times. I never applied for a card with them, I had a Halifax charity card, where they give a percentage of your spendings to a charity you nominate. Approx 4 years ago The Halifax sold some of their credit card accounts to MBNA ...

I would strongly advise against getting card from these - I have three other credit cards but this is the one that I want gone. About a year and a half ago I was forced to leave my job due to the fact that it was a contract and there wasn't any more work within the company, this obviously led to me experiencing severe financial ...

Mbna do have some good deals but beware of being ripped off by the system. I paid off my mbna credit card in full and then cancelled the direct debit. Big mistake. They tried to take the next month's direct debit anyway, and when they couldn't they charged me so that my account was no longer paid off. When I queried this I was told that ...

mbna are the uk's worst credit card company. they try and scam you at every opportunity. i make all my payments on time and this month my balance has gone up even though i have not used the card for months. i suggest you record your phones calls as what they tell you on the phone is not always true.

MBNA DO NOT LISTEN (233 words)

I have had my MBNA card for 7 years. Slowly the statements have changed so that only the first 7 transactions are shown on PAGE 1. The total of these first 7 transactions is shown in BOLD so that at first glance this is the new balance. (it even says "new balance.." by the side). Only once I paid the "new balance.." ...

I had a MBNA Conran Credit card which promised cashback (see countless websites if you do a search on Google). The credit card was closed down all of a sudden and, to cut a long story short, I have robbed out of receiving cashback on the card that I used for months. I have literally wasted hours trying to get the cashback, but MBNA ...

Having taken out a 0% MBNA card some months back and always paid my bills well ahead of their due date, I was horrified to receive a bill from them this month stating that I had missed a payment, been charged £12 late fee and charged nearly £100 interest! I rang them this morning to be told that they had sent me a bill which should have been paid ...

i work for MBNA therefore I must go Anon. Direct debit set up problems are an on going flaw in the system. If a direct debit is set up when you open a new account call back to confirm its been done the next day. I know it's stupid but trust me its the only way to make sure you avoid the late fee and interest charge and your promotional rate turn ...

I had an i24 card which had good benefits that suited me. However I had to abandon it as MBNA do not seem able to do the most basic things like issuing cards within two months, or on occasion never, despite repeated reminders and their assurances that everything was in hand. This happened repeatedly over a lengthy time period and I concluded that ...

I applied to transfer balance to MBNA to take advantage of the zero interest rate and set up a direct debit straight away to take care of the minimum payments. They then took over 6 weeks to take the first direct debit payment by which time they had charged me £50 in late charges, withdrawn the zero interest rate and charged me over £200 ...

I've been a customer of MBNA for some reason right now - running at a balance of around 9k. Guess what they spontaneously did this morning? They upped my interest rate from 1.5 a month to 1.8 a month - because I'd gone over the limit twice in the last 6 months. Don't trust them - their card protection insurance is ...

My first contact with MBNA credit cards was 6 years ago. Getting hold of one was about as easy as buying a newspaper from a newsagents, a virtually pre filled in application form landed on my doorstep and all I had to do was enter my bank details, as at the time I was looking for a CC I thought great and signed up. Some weeks later I ...

Unfortunately this review was, in error, first posted on the HSBC thread We have had a credit card, in various guises, from MBNA for over a decade and our current one is a Visa Platinum Plus. I've never really understood where MBNA's competitive's edge is. They offer few perks (other than giving to charity and Thomas Cook cashback) and they charge a hefty 2.75% commission when you use their cards outside the UK. You can now access your account online though and download in Microsoft Money, which is a nice improvement. ...
