Advantages: It's free!
Disadvantages: You have to gain a lot of points to get any value out of it!
This card is free from Sainsburys and the basic premise is that you can collect points as you spend your money and then they offer you vouchers and things for the points you build up.
The points work like this: For every £1 you spend, you pick up 2 points and you can also earn a point for every bag you reuse. Occasionally you will be sent vouchers which will enable you to earn double or triple points on selected products. For every 500 points gained you can claim £2.50.
When I got my card I registered my details online so I now have personal account where I can check how many points I have and keep up to date with regular offers and things via the net. They also send me vouchers and codes which is very useful when shopping.
The great thing about the card is that you can collect points from other places other than Sainsburys. On a recent trip to homebase we were able to claim some points and there are other places that will accept the card too.
There are stores online where you can also claim points including Amazon and Game which is very convenient for hubby and I because we tend to shop a lot online especially with Amazon.
A part from the odd occasion, I am not very adventurous when it comes to claiming my points so I usually end up using my points for shopping which makes it a little cheaper. If you choose to then there are plenty of other things that you can use them on like books, theatre trips, holidays and much more.
I do like having this card but I find that it takes me an awful long time to gain anything from it because I don't do my main shop at Sainsburys. I think if it wasn't a free card then I wouldn't have bothered picking one up because I tend to forget that I can use it in other places a lot of the time and my points tot up from little shops at Sainsburys.
I would recommend this card but don't expect to make millions of pounds of savings fast unless you spend lots of money in store and elsewhere.
Summary: You won't be a millionaire with one of these!
