Advantages: Easy To Use
Disadvantages: None Really
I've been using a Nectar card for a few years now. Must admit, I don't tend to use it to its full potential. But anyway it is an excellent little card with loads of benefits, so thought I would give it a review.
A nectar card is basically a reward card, when you pay for services and products with certain retailers you can hand over your Nectar card and depending on how much you spend, you get points.
Now I got to the same petrol station nearly all the time, it's a BP garage. And as BP do Nectar points a I got myself a card. So I slowly collect my points and then every so often treat myself.
However there are so many places you can use your Nectar card now. For instance, there's BP, Sainsburys, Argos, Homebase, Next, Currys, Brewers Fayres, etc... And if you shop online there are loads of sites you can get nectar points, things like Amazon, Ebay, Play.com and loads of others. For a full list you can go to the website to check out all the places where you can get hold of Nectar points.
You can apply for a Nectar card online, or sometimes when you are in shops where Nectar points are available, you can pick up an application form there. It was a few years ago when I got my card, but it was a very easy process and came in the post very quickly.
As for what you can spend your Nectar points on, well to be honest, pretty much anything! From entertainment to household goods. I tend to get myself a new CD every few months, takes me a while to save up enough points for a CD but am sure if I was a little more aware of all the places I could use my card am sure would collect them much quicker.
When you have a card you sometimes get sent special offers in the form of vouchers. Yoo can use these at certain retailers to get extra points. Sometimes its double or treble points or sometimes you can get several hundred extra points.
The website is also very good, it gives you all the information you need and is easy to use.
This is an excellent card, it costs you nothing to set up an account and yet there are lots of benefits. I love my Nectar card and plan on using it lots more in the future and hopefully getting plenty of rewards too!

- 28/07/09 There are loads of ways to spend your reward vouchers, from using them in Argos to getting special 'treats'. Some of the ways of spending the rewards are a bit dodgy I think... |

- 28/07/09 It's good for in-store purchases, but for buying online you'd be much better using a cashback website like quidco.com or topcashback.co.uk |
