Newest Review: ... to transfer that magic amount from my savings to current account. Uhoh times two. Extra charges ------------- Well, what happened next? - Direct debit bounced back - Barclays charged me - Sainsbury's Credit Card charged me £10 - and of course I start to accumulate interest All because I forgot to transfer money over from my savings account, allbeit by only one day. Eek! Contacting Customer Services ---------------------------- Here Sainsbury's Credit Card Service were quite understanding. What a wonderful world it would be if only we could shake the money tree and get nice crisp bank notes falling off the top. Never going to happen is it? We can dream. Instead what we all have to do when times are hard, is to use the dreaded CREDIT CARD! Eek! Signing up ---------- Having established that you want to sign your life away to the devil, you sign up foe the credit card. Make sure there's no annual fee. I don't think many of them do charge now, but Sainsbury's definitely doesn't. I had no hassles doing this as student, but was surprised at this. You get to choose one of three colours of credit card (Green/Blue/Orange) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review WARNING pay off your balance!!!!!!! (304 words)

I use my Sainsburys credit card for most of my shopping. I pay off the balance by the date on the statement and think no more about it. I have had no problems with this card and I like its benefits. Whenever I use my credit card I gain points which work towards vouchers which I can then use in Sainsburys. If I shop in Sainsburys with this card I get even more points which go straight to my Sainsbury reward card and can then be used for a variety of rewards, including Air miles. Last month I paid off my bill but made a mistake and paid £20 too little. I had not realised my mistake until I recieved my next statement. I was shocked to see the amount ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sainsbury Visa: Double your reward points (183 words)

I do most of my grocery shopping in Sainsburys, and have a reward card with them so it made sense to get a Sainsburys credit card. For every £1 you spend in Sainsburys you get 2 points, and you get 1 point for every £1 you spend elsewhere. Sainsburys earned points are transferred to your reward card every month, and non-Sainsburys points are given to you by way of a voucher when you reach 500 points. Each voucher is worth £2.50 in Sainsburys or can be worth £5 in some other stores. So for example, if you spend £50 in Sainsburys you will get the usual points on your reward card, and you will then get the 100 points on your credit card. It is ...  Read the complete review

Beware paying by Direct Debit from your credit card...stop and think about it...you might be giving a company access to your money...forever! When I joined BTinternet.com (please consider reading my opinion of their dire service if you are thinking of doing the same) I decided to pay the Direct Debit subscription from my Sainsbury's Visa card...to be honest, it was simply the first card I grabbed when I was joining and there was no rhyme nor reason to my using this particular card. Sainsbury's Visa card have paid the Direct Debit quite happily for over a year and I have no complaints about that...so far so good! No...my problem ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sainsbury Visa: Use for Shopping and Petrol (111 words)
by - written on 08/08/00 (Very useful, 93 readings)

The Sainsbury's Visa card is great if you shop at Sainsbury's a lot, as you earn double reward points everytime you use it. You receive 2 points for every £1 you spend in Sainsbury's, Savacentre, Homebase and the petrol stations. You also receive 1 point for every pound you spend everywhere else. The interest rates are quite high, so it is not a credit card for paying the minimum amount on. I use mine for the shopping and petrol, and pay it off every month. They are offering new customers an APR of 5.9% for the first 6 months, but there are better APR's around at the moment. ...  Read the complete review
