I do not shop very often at Sainsbury's any more, but I do have their reward card.

They have a slighly confusing reward system because they give you 2 points for each pound you spend, which may make you think that you are better off than at rival Tesco, only to find that 500 points only give you the equivalent of 2.50 pounds.

One of the benefits of this card, though, is that it can be redeemed without delay, while with Tesco you need to wait some time and also that it can be redeemed for vouchers at other locations like Cafe Nero.

They clearly mark with items in the supermarket are giving you double points and some time even triple points and they send you a letter at home with a copy of your statement 3 times a month, which is also a good thing.

To get their card you can apply in store. I no longer carry it with me in my wallet, which has already all sort of cards and some time I forget it at home when I happen to shop at Sainsbury's. It is worth having it, anyway since it costs you nothing.

Summary: If you shop at Sainsbury's, why not having it?
