Advantages: Get money back, Once 500 points can get rewards when wanted
Disadvantages: none at all
Sainsburys reward card is one that you should not be without even if you only shop at odd times in Sainsburys. To get a card just go to the customer service counter and ask for one. If you have plenty of time you can fill out your details there and then on the form provided but if you are in a bit of a rush you can fill it out at home to register and take it in another time or even post it. You can also register on line. Whichever way you register, it makes no difference to using your card there and then. To use your card is simple. Just hand it over when you pay for your goods and they will swipe it through the machine for you. You get 2 points for every £1 spent. What I like is the card is bright orange so if you are like me and have several reward cards (tescos and boots etc) you can easily know which one to grab from your bag! Once you get to 500 points which is worth £2.50 you will find it soon adds up. Look out in the shop for some items that say 100 points extra if you buy that item that day. Also when you enter the store you will see a machine like a cash dispenser. What you have to do is simply swipe your card and it will tell you what savings you can make in the store that day. It is a touch screen thing so you just touch the screen if you wish that item and a ticket will drop down for you to get that item cheaper. Dont forget to do it as sometimes what is on special offer is by these tickets only. The ticket is for that day only. When you have collected enough points you dont have to spend them in Sainsburys only. Some of the places you can use are Brewers Fayre, Brewsters, TGI Friday, Beefeater - here one reward voucher = £5 off two main adult main courses. Bella Pasta and Cafe Rouge - £5 off when you spend £15 on food Home base 1 reward voucher is £2.50 off your shopping Legoland 4 reward vouchers - 1 free adult admission
3 = 1 free childs admission. Odean Cinema 3 rewar vouchers = 2 admissions Blockbusters - one reward voucher = free movie rental You can also give to a couple charities. So even if you dont want to do it for yourself it would be nice to do it to help others so that the charities gain. I am collecting mine for Christmas which means until then I just shop there and ignore them and then get a good surprise at Christmas to see how well they have mounted up.

- 16/08/02 It's always nice to be able to build up your points and use them at Christmas. I always save my Boots points and use them towards Christmas presents! |
