Sainsbury?s what a reward Do you have a Sainsbury ?s reward card in your purse or wallet with your Tesco?s card, Next card, Safeway?s card, Dorothy Perkins card, and all the others? I do not shop in Sainsbury?s very often; it isn?t conveniently placed for me. But when I shop I do use it. It is a bright orange colour easy to find in my wallet full of all the other cards most of them seem to be blue. When you spend £1 you get 2 points on your card to convert your points into cash you have to have 500 points that gives you £2.50 of your next bill. You could convert it to get £5.00 of your bill at Bella pasta or Café rouge when you spend over £15. From time to time, Sainsbury?s have offers double points, and other things to lure you into buying items for points. If you go to www.sainsbury?s.co.uk they give you full information. Personally, I do have reward cards .I do think I would be paying more if I didn?t but I if instead of reward cards supermarkets reduced their prices. After all where do they get the money to give us our rewards? From us the shoppers of course. We pay it in the price of the goods we buy. I do not think the cards are effective at luring people into buying from certain chains of shop anymore not now nearly every shop has a reward system. I shop where it is most convenient and I am happy with the produce very occasionally I buy things because of extra points but only items I would buy any way, the prices are reasonable I am sure most other people have the same criteria, not I must shop at that store I have got their card. Happy shopping.

- 16/09/02 Working for the opposition (Tesco) it's hard to comment on Sainsbury's Reward card!
One of the thing's I admire about their card is the little computer terminals they have in store allowing you extra coupons. Tesco does appear to have caught up with this by offering coupons at the till.
The beauty about Sainsburys too is that you can redeem your points whenever you like. One of the annoying things about Tesco Clubcard is that you have to wait three months before you see the rewards. That tends to confuse some people! |

- 03/09/02 Thanks for reading my and commenting on my Kooshies Boosters review. I have several of these reward type cards incl. Sainsbury's, and you are correct, the cost of these "rewards" is contained in the supermarket prices. We switched to Asda which does NOT have a reward scheme, and our grocery bill went down as thier prices were cheaper. And btw Tots Bots are great. Tho I hear Kissaluvs fit newborns better for the first couple of months. |
