Petrol rebate nice, but other promised cashback not forthcoming (Shell)

Advantages: 3% rebate on Shell petrol (doubled to 6% for first two months)

Disadvantages: Promised 2% rebate on other items not forthcoming, unresponsive customer services

I have just had my first statement from my Shell Credit card. The 6% promotional cashback on Shell petrol was shown, but there was no reference to the promised 2% promotional cashback for other purchases. I complained via the website (I'm not ringing their premium rate enquiry line) but a week has gone by now without explanation or acknowledgement. I will leave it another week before complaining to the Advertising Standards Authority about the false claims in the advertising.
