Advantages: Points towards rewards with purchase of fuel

Disadvantages: Swipe cards rarely "swipe"

A big con! We got coupons to earn extra points when paying for fuel but when you hand them over in the garage, you're told they can't be used, with no explanation why! We used to belong to the Texaco reward scheme and are seriously considering dumping shell to go back to Texaco. We never had problems with them and reward coupons were always honoured when handed in to any of their garage forecourts. Shell are expensive providers of fuel anyway so its worth driving a little further for cheaper fuel and genuine rewards. The Shell reward swipe card rarely works, annoying when you've just spent 30 - 40 quid on fuel, and if you ask for the points to be added at your next visit, you can guarantee the machine is "out of order"! Our advice to all considering joining the Shell Reward Scheme, don't bother. Go to Texaco instead. Dinadewdrop and Daisydoll
